2017 Hyundai Tucson Launched In India At Rs. 18.99 Lakhs
The Hyundai Tucson competes with the likes of the Honda CR-V and Skoda Yeti, and is available with both petrol and diesel motors.
Hyundai India’s third SUV offering in India has just been launched at Rs. 18.99 lakhs ex-showroom, Delhi for the base petrol varinst. The mid size SUV from Hyundai’s India line up has been offered with a total of three variants – 2WD MT, 2WD AT GL and 2WD AT GLS. The petrol will be offered up in the base two variants, while the diesel will be available in all three trim levels. Thankfully, the company has also offered an automatic and a manual transmission on both these engine variants.
The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder unit that develops 152 BHP of max power and 192 Nm of max torque. The diesel mill is an all new unit for India which is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder motor that develops a highly impressive 182 BHP of peak power and 400 Nm of twist. Both these engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual gearbox. Safety features on the 2017 Hyundai Tucson include electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill start assist, downhill brake control and brake assist. There is no AWD variant available yet although one could be introduced if demand seeks.
The 2017 Hyundai Tucson gets features like automatic headlamps, reversing camera, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, Keyless Entry and Go and Cruise Control as standard features staring from the base manual variants. The mid level GL trim gets features like dual zone climate control system, rear AC vents, 10-way power adjustable front seats and drive mode select. The top end GLS adds features like a powered tailgate and electric parking brake to the other two variants.
