2019 Jeep Cherokee Breaks Cover, Details Right Here

2019 Jeep Cherokee has been globally unveiled at the ongoing Detroit Motor Show. The Cherokee is the SUV that sits just below the Grand Cherokee which is the flagship SUV from the legendary Jeep brand. This latest version of the SUV takes the Chereokees lineage ahead with an all new exterior styling and fresh interiors to new levels. The 2019 Cherokee comes with updated style and increased performance, fuel efficiency and capability. Jeep terms this the  2019 Cherokee as the most capable mid-sized sports utility vehicle in the market. The 2019 Cherokee is based on he Compact US wide architecture modular platform from the Fiat Chrysler Group.

The 2019 Cherokee comes with an all new sleek looking front with an chrome lined 7- slot family Jeep mesh grill that is flushed into the face. Headlights now get an all fresh looking trendy looking stretched design and DRLs placed in them along with projector headlamps. The bonnet now comes made of weight saving material (Aluminum) looking more inline to the overall design of the face. The sides too get some refresh with slightly sharper looking lines now running across. The rear gets redesigned all LED tail lights while the tailgate is now a composite design and features hands-free opening, incidentally, which helps reduce 8.2kgs of weight compared to the old one. On the fender, the pop-open fuel cap now hides a capless fuel filler.

The 2019 Jeep Cherokee will be available in four trims, Limited, Latitude, Overland and the Trailhawk. On the Trailhawk versions there is slightly increased ground clearance and the bonnet gets an anti-glare hood decal along with red tow hooks.

The 2019 Jeep Cherokee comes in three engine options . a brand new 2.0L  turbocharged inline 4-cylinder with 270Hp and 400Nm of torque. The 3.2L Pentastar 6-cylinder engine with 271HP of power and 325Nm of torque is the 2nd engine offered. This engine can tow a best in class 2100kgs. The third engine offered is the 4-cylinder 2.4L Tigershark MultiAir engine with 180HP and 230Nm of torque. All these engines come mated to the 9-speed automatic transmission. The rear axle can be disconnected when 4×4 capability is not needed. Cherokee comes with three 4×4 systems to choose with one speed or two speed transfer unit with low range option that includes locking rear differential option for high off roading capabilities.

Jeep active drive 2 comes loaded on the Cherokee with 4 low mode for locking the front and rear drive shafts for low speed power or towing. There also is the Jeep Active Drive Lock system that mechanically locks rear differential exclusive to the Trailhawk. Jeep Select Terrain system is also loaded to the Cherokee. The Trailhawk has class leading approach angle of 29.9 degrees and departure angle of 32.1 degrees. Needless o say the vehicles come with hill descent and  hill ascent feature.

The cabin gets a total rewamp with all leather seats and leather wrapped steering, heated and ventilated front seats, re-sculpted center console, latest generation UConnect infotainment system with an 8.4 inch touchscreen. Rear seats can be slided back and front for comfort and space, loading area is now wider with 764liters of total boot space with rear seats folded.

Jeep Cherokee gets over 80 standard and available safety and security features including Blind Spot Monitoring4, ParkSense Front and Rear Park Assist5, Passive Entry, Keyless Enter ‘n Go etc.
