Audi begins local production of the Q7 SUV in India, launch expected next month
Audi has announced the start of local production of the Q7 SUV at their Aurangabad plant. Audi will launch the Make in India 2022 Q7 early next year and will be positioned under their flagship SUV model the Q8. The SUV models from Audi the ‘Q’ make around 45% of the company’s India sales and recently Audi launched the latest updated Q5 just last month.
The 2022 Audi Q7 on the outside comes with a dominating Audi front grille, MATRIX LED headlight units, large air intakes, chrome garnish on the window and a chrome line on the door new design tail lights with all LED glow and loads of chrome all around. The facelifted Audi Q7 will be longer by 11 mm, while the height and width will remain unchanged.
Changes on the inside include reworked trim pieces and the use of a new dashboard. The Q7 will now feature three displays – a 12.3-inch virtual cockpit, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, and an 8.6-inch touch-enabled climate control module.
Audi has begun sales of the 2022 Q7 in some global markets. On the updated feature list for the New Audi Q7 are rear side airbags, heated ORVMs, updated tyre-pressure monitoring system and adaptive cruise control. The SUV, in the global market, is available in both five and seven-seater layouts and Audi will continue that trend here too.
Powering the 2022 Audi Q7 would be the a 3.0L turbocharged V6 that makes 340 Bhp of power and 500 Nm of torque. It will be offered with an 8-speed DSG transmission along with a 48V mild-hybrid system, and the AWD Quattro system. There also would be a smaller engine on the list with the 2.0L turbo-petrol motor unit with 252hp in place.
