BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine launched at Rs. 51.50 Lakh

BMW India has launched the 3 Series Gran Limousine in India with an introductory starting price of Rs 51.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The long wheelbase version of the luxury sedan is available in two engine options across two trims. The 3 Series GL is available in –  Mineral White, Melbourne Red, Cashmere Silver, and Carbon Black body color options. BMW had opened the bookings for the new model earlier this month for an amount of Rs 50,000.

The 3 Series Gran Limousine replaces the 3 Series GT in India and is placed higher than the regular 3 Series in terms of pricing etc. The long wheelbase version of the 3 Series gets 110mm of extra wheelbase with the sedan now standing at 2,961mm. The 3 Series GL becomes the longest sedan in its class. In terms of exteriors the 3 Series GL shares the exterior styling and design with the regular 3 Series and comes with LED headlamps, signature kidney grille, L-shaped tail lamps, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

In terms of interiors the major update is the rear seat that gets tons of leg room due to the extended wheelbase ultimately offering more space and comfort for the rear passengers. The seats have also been redesigned and now come with extra cushioning enhancing comfort. In terms of features the 3 Series GL comes with three-zone climate control, USB Type-C charging point, armrest with storage for the second-row passengers, 12.3-inch digital instrument display, and a 10.25-inch infotainment system with connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to name a few.

Engine options on the BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine include the 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 320Ld diesel hits out 190bhp and 400Nm of torque and is offered in a single Luxury Line trim. Meanwhile, the 330Li petrol makes 258bhp and 400Nm of peak torque and can be had in either the Luxury Line or M Sport variant. The 3 Series Grand Limousine competes with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Jaguar XE, and the recently updated Audi A4.
