Ford has released the pictures and complete details of its facelifted Ford Ecosport in Brazil. The all new Ford Ecosport will go on sale in Brazil from next month.
With the facelift, Ford has managed to update both the exterior and interior of its best selling compact SUV while still maintaining the original identity of the SUV. On the outside, the 2018 Ford Ecosport is equipped with Xenon headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights, 17 inch alloy wheels and an electrically operated sunroof.
The inside of the Ford Ecosport now comes with a newly designed instrumentation panel with a 4.2 inch Multi Information Display, SYNC 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen display featuring the latest and greatest of tech world- Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The facelift also comes equipped with a 9-speaker Sony premium audio system.
On the safety front, the new Ford Ecosport does not disappoint at all. It comes with the latest of the safety and driver assistance features such as Blind Spot Detection with Cross Traffic Alert, seven airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control (TC), HLA, rear parking sensors and reverse camera.
In Brazil, the 2018 Ford Ecosport will be powered by two engines; a 1.5L TiVCT Flex and 2.0L Direct Flex designed to run on both petrol and ethanol. The 1.5 L three cylinder engine produces upto 137 HP of power and 159 Nm of torque while the 2.0 L develops 176 HP and 221 NM of torque. While the transmission duties are taken care by either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic in the former, the latter gets the 6-speed auto to take care of power delivery.
In Brazil, the 2018 Ford Ecosport is expected to be priced between Brazilian Reals 73,900 to 93990 ( approx Rs.15 lakhs to Rs.19 lakhs). The compact SUV will see light in India by October, with the sales soon to be followed by December. It is expected to be priced between INR 7 lakhs to INR 10.5 Lakhs.
