MWI Exclusive! Vespa GTS 300 Super Spotted in India

The Vespa GTS 300 Super will be the second most expensive scooter in the Vespa line up after the Vespa 946.

Piaggio Group India is all set to introduce the Vespa GTS 300 Super in the market soon. This will again be one of the premium scooter offerings by the company and is expected to be priced at around Rs. 5 lakhs. Thanks to its pricing, the scooter will place itself as a halo product. The Vespa GTS 300 Super will also be the most powerful scooter in its entire range and boasts of a 278cc single cylinder engine that develops 21.1 BHP at 7,500 RPM and 22.3 Nm at 5,250 RPM. It is mated to a automatic CVT gearbox and can go up to a top speed of 130 kmph.

As for design, the Vespa GTS 300 Sport carries that retro classic design with a few minute detailing differences. For example it will come with black rims, analog and digital instrument panel, LED DRLs, a new front cowl, the grille on the rear right hand side and a retro taillight. the scooter measure 1,900mm in length, 755mm in width and has a wheelbase of 1,370mm. It also has a fuel tank capacity of 9.5 litres and delivers a fuel efficiency of around 28 kmpl.

Suspension duties are carried out by a single-arm ESS with coil spring and hydraulic shock absorber at the front and dual hydraulic shock absorbers with adjustable spring preload at the rear. Brakes system consists of 220mm discs both upfront and the rear. The Vespa GTS 300 Super also benefits from ABS as standard. The black rims are 12-inchers with 120-section rubber wrapped upfront and 130-section rubber wrapped at the rear. Globally the scooter is available in three colours – Stain Black, Montebianco White and Titanium. It will be imported into India via the CBU route and expect a official launch around July 2017.
