The Z900 ABS is a brand new machine, meant as a replacement for the Kawasaki Z800, and has very little in common with its predecessor, apart from the general styling. The Z900 ABS comes equipped with a 948 cc in-line engine with a liquid cooling system, capable of 124 hp at 9500 rpm, with 98.6 Nm of torque at 7700 rpm, which is 13 hp more than the original Z800 which came with an 806 cc incline, four cylinder engine.

Some more of the changes made to the previous model of the Z800 include a slipper clutch meant to stop the wheel hop and chatter that happens during hard shifts. The Z900 carries on it an LCD instrument screen replacing the old instrument panel, that shows three different ride modes, as well as a tachometer with a shift-light incorporated into it.

The basic model of the Z900 is available in Grey, whereas the special edition is sold in Blue. Some of the extra features that come with the 2017 Kawasaki Z900 ABS Special Edition also include a single seat cover, a DC outlet, sliders, front-axle sliders, engine covers, as well as special graphics on the body.

The special edition also comes with an OEM Kawasaki tank pad, and knee pads. The 2017 Kawasaki Z900 ABS will be released at Ninja shops, GT World Ninja, and other premium Kawasaki authorised dealers in Malaysia, on the 8th of April. It is expected to breach the Indian market soon as well.
