LIVE – Volvo XC40 Launched in India at Rs. 39.90Lakh Ex Showroom
The European Car of the Year 2018 is now in India. Volvo has launched the XC40 in India and priced it at Rs. 39.90Lakh Ex Showroom. The Swedish SUV will be available in the fully loaded trim the R-Design. With this Volvo has completed the trilogy for their SUV lineup, which now starts with the XC40, XC60 and the XC90 respectively.
The XC40 won the much covoted European car of the year for 2018 beating many heavy brands and models to do so. Volvo is now eyeing for a larger market share in India and the XC40 will be the perfect model to do so. India gets the XC40 much before the other countries. The XC40 is the the first model from Volvo to use the all new CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform.
The XC40 carries the Volvo family design theme looking extremely catchy and striking in person. Standing at 4425mm in length, 2034mm in width and 1652mm height, the XC40 comes with full LED smoked Headlights with Thors Hammer styled DRLs and vertically oriented smoked LED taillamps like with all current generation Volvo car models. The body lines are typical SUV like, flat and wide with loads of premium styling in place. The XC40 runs on specifically developed tyres from Pirelli with 235/55 R18 spec mounted on five twin spoke alloys in black and brushed metal finish. The roof is all black and also comes with a tilt and slide panoramic electrical sunroof.
Like the exteriors the interiors of the XC40 is also loaded till the brim with safety and technology features. You get a contrasting cabin with premium black upholstery with lava carpeting and door inserts. The dash comes with the acclaimed and feature rich 9 inch Sensus infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality along with tons of other stuff. You also get Wireless Phone Charging, a Harman Kardon sound system, panoramic sunroof, and the 12.3 inch virtual digital instrument cluster as standard feature list on this Volvo. Also included on the package is the 3-spoke leather wrapped steering, ambient lighting, full electric seats, R-Design leather wrapped gear knob to name a few.
In terms of safety features, the XC40 comes with goodies such as lane keeping aid, radar-guided cruise control, hill start and hill descent control, and park pilot assist as standard equipment list.
The Volvo XC40 comes powered by the 4-cylinder 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that makes 190PS of power and 400Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to the 8-speed Aisin automatic transmission.
