MG Hector crosses the 50,000 bookings milestone

MG Motors have crossed an important milestone with the Hector, the smart SUV has now more than 50,000 bookings to its name within 8 months from launch.

MG Motor had launched the Hector SUV as their very first product towards the end of June 2019 and the car maker has released a statement today about the 50,000 bookings and 20,000 units being retailed so far. The MG Hector was India’s 1st Internet Car as per the manufacturer and is available in four variants Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. The Hector has eleven trims on its lineup and comes in petrol, diesel and also a petrol mild hybrid engine options.

The MG Hector is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol/mild-hybrid petrol engine and a 2.0-litre  diesel engine. In terms of features the Hector is loaded with  features like, a 10.4-inch vertically placed touchscreen infotainment system loaded with iSmart, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, heated wing mirrors, cruise control, 360 degree camera, powered front seats, panoramic sunroof along with a long list of safety features.

Speaking on the achievement, Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer – MG Motor India, said, “The HECTOR continues its’ strong momentum in the Indian market, crossing the 50,000-mark in terms of bookings received in just 8 months since its launch. We continue to accelerate this momentum by opening new brand outlets closer to our prospective customers in tier-I and tier-II cities. With plans to launch the HECTOR PLUS 6-seater family version in Q3 2020, we aim to further strengthen the HECTOR brand in India.”
MG Motor have also showcased the Hector Plus at the 2020 Auto Expo recently which is the 7 seater version of the SUV due for launch soon which should further boost the sales for the car model in the coming times. The MG Hector competes with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Mahindra XUV 500, Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, Nissan KICKS and the Renault Captur in its segment.
