MG Motor India teams up with HPCL to install fast chargers across India

As part of the collaboration, both entities will deploy 50 kW and 60 kW DC fast chargers along highways and in cities across India.

MG Motor India and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) have collaborated to enhance India’s EV charging infrastructure. Their partnership entails installing 50 kW and 60 kW DC Fast Chargers at select highway and city locations to facilitate convenient charging options for EV owners. Gaurav Gupta, Chief Growth Officer at MG Motor India, underscores the significance of expanding the EV charging network nationwide to instill confidence among existing and potential EV users.

This collaboration will deploy CCS2 compatible chargers accessible to MG EV owners via the MyMG mobile app. MG has already established over 15,000 public and private chargers across India in partnership with companies like Tata Power Delta Electronics and Fortum. Similarly, HPCL, with over 3,600 charging stations nationwide, aims to expand to 5,000 by 2024. Rajdip Ghosh, Chief General Manager at HPCL, emphasizes the synergy between the two companies in driving EV growth through increased charger utilization and strategic expansion efforts.
