MWI Exclusive! 2017 Ford Ecosport Facelift Snapped Testing
MotorworldIndia.com is the first to snap pictures of the upcoming 2017 Ford Ecosport facelift that is set to launch in India later this year.
The 2017 Ford Ecosport facelift has been spotted testing for the very first time in India. There were two variants that were spotted on test each wearing a metallic Blue paint and a Black paint shade respectively. The Blue test car was what appeared to be as the fully loaded variant as it came with the projector headlamps, new design 17-inch grey alloy wheels and a new spare wheel cover. The black car was spotted with a PEMS (Portable Emissions Measuring System) box that was mounted in place of the spare wheel. The 2 test cars were followed by the Ford Endeavour as their support vehicle.
As for the looks, the front is where most of the changes will take place. The 2017 Ford Ecosport facelift will get a new one piece front grille that is placed much higher than the current cars’ and new larger fog lamp cluster. The headlamps are expected to get LED DRLs while the rear could see LED inserts in the taillights as well. The antenna on the roof has now been moved to the rear with the black test car sporting a shark fin unit. The rear windscreen wiper has been replaced too with an aesthetically better looking one. Some of the other observations include the boot door hinges that are still fixed on the wrong side.
The interiors will also see a major overhaul and the test cars that we spotted had its dashboard completely camouflaged. Features like cruise control and the 8-inch touchscreen display will be carried forward. The system might run the latest SYNC 3 software that also supports Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Engines options will be carried over unchanged and will include a 125 HP 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol, 111 HP 1.5-litre petrol and a 100 HP 1.5-litre diesel. All engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while only the 1.5-litre petrol will get the option of a 6-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
