Piaggio India launches its new CV Porter 700
Piaggio Vehicle Pvt Ltd, which is a 100% owned subsidiary of the Piaggio group based out of Italy has launched a new commercial vehicle Porter 700. Piaggio is one of the leading commercial vehicle manufacturers of the European market and has been establishing itself as one of the leading player in India.
Piaggio’s Porter 700 is the Italian company’s answer to the last mile transportation solution through the 4-wheeler cargo market. Piaggio has taken great pains to understand the market requirement based on feedback and has designed the revolutionary product to further consolidate its presence in the last mile commercial vehicle industry.
Speaking at the launch of the company’s latest product, Mr. Ravi Chopra, Chairman of Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. said “Piaggio would continue to provide technological solutions in the last mile transportation market and would focus on further strengthening & dominating this category particularly the last mile transportation cargo market. The new Piaggio Porter 700’s engine is good enough for 14.75 BHP and 40 Nm of torque to compete on a level playing ground in this segment. The power and torque figure ensures superior pickup and acceleration. Power delivery is taken care by a 5 speed synchromesh gearbox. The Porter 700 has a cargo deck of 30 sq.ft for that superior load carrying ability and has a rated payload of 700 kgs. Keeping in mind that the little Piaggio has to negotiate a lot of small village roads which are unpaved, the company has provided a generous ground clearance of 218 mm. The vehicle has a grade ability of 21% to tackle both those slopes in the hilly areas and the flyovers of the urban world with ease. Being Italian, the flair for style is always in excess for this little transporter and the twin headlamps only adds to the looks while also providing a safer driving experience at night.
The new Porter 700 comes with 2 years or 75000 kms extended warranty. The vehicle carries a price tag of INR 318257, ex-showroom , Maharashtra.
