VW Tiguan reaches its first customer in Hyderbad
VW India has announced today the delivery of its first Tiguan in the country. The first copy of the premium crossover SUV from the Volkswagen stable, VW Tiguan has been delivered in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana. The SUV was delivered to Mr.Sundaresan Mallikarjun Duggu from the Volkswagen Hyderabad dealership amidst a festive celebration. The Tiguan has been receiving a strong response since its launch on May the 24th, 2017.
Volkswagen, the leading car manufacturer from Europe, has tasted the premium SUV segment with the launch of Tiguan crossover SUV. The entry level luxury SUV segment is currently ruled by the likes of Audi Q3 and BMW X1.
The vehicle is powered by the group’s efficient yet powerful 2.0 L Turbocharged Direct Injection (TDI) engine which is mated to a slick, ultra-fast shifting 7-speed automatic DSG gearbox. The 2.0 L diesel mill is good for 143 PS or 105 kW of power and a strong muscle of 240 Nm of torque spread over a range of 1750-2750 rpm. The fuel efficiency of the diesel engine is rated at 17.06 kmpl which is astonishing for such a powerful locomotive like mill.
The VW Tiguan has been loaded to the brim with a lot of features which makes it very competitive in its segment. It has excellent safety features which include Pedestrian Safety (Active Hood), 6 Airbags, Hill Start Assist, Auto Hold and self-sealing tyres. Other new generation features like the ‘Vienna ‘leather seats, Cruise Control, App Connect, Rain and Light sensors, LED headlamps with Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), LED tail lamps and comfort features like Easy open boot, Electrically foldable ORVM, LED illuminated Panoramic sunroof, Keyless Entry and Go ensure that the VW Tiguan stays right up there on top of the list when it comes to the features provided.
The VW Tiguan is offered with the Volkswagen 4MOTION Intelligent All Wheel Drive (AWD) system and is based on the same MQB platform that underpins the cars from its sister concern such as Skoda Octavia and Skoda Superb. The Tiguan is offered in two variants – Comfortline and Highline and starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs.27.68 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai)
