Suzuki Gixxer Cup all set for its third edition this year

Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) , a subsidiary of one of the world’s leading two wheeler company, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan has announced the Suzuki Gixxer Cup for the year 2017. The Suzuki Gixxer Cup has tasted some grand success in its earlier two seasons.

SMIL has tied up with JK Tyre Motorsport to organize the third edition of the Suzuki Gixxer Cup, 2017. The Red Bull ‘Road to Rookies’ Cup is also part of the event to give young and budding racers from the country to get a taste of the International racing arena. In fact, winners of the Indian edition of the race gets qualifies to participate in the Red Bull Rookies Cup Qualifiers in Spain!

2016 marked the first edition of Road to Rookies Cup to be clubbed alongside the Suzuki Gixxer Cup in the country. After six races which were spread across two rounds, Sachin Chaudhary from Ahmedabad managed to win the cup from among seven highly talented young blooded Indian riders. He also went on to represent India in the RedBull MotoGP Rookies Cup qualifiers in Spain.

We are also equally happy to announce our continued partnership with Red Bull for the Road to Rookies Cup for a 2nd year running. Both the Suzuki Gixxer Cup and the Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup will be run as a part of the 20th JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship 2017. While the former will allow racers who are 17 years or older, the latter is for participants aged between 12 and 16.

The Rider Selection program for the Suzuki Gixxer Cup will be conducted in Bangalore, Aizawl, Pune and Noida in the month of June followed by the actual championship which will consist of three rounds at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore from July to September followed by the 4th and final round at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida in November.
