Ducati Monster 797 to launch in July 2017

The Ducati Monster 797 will be positioned at par with the Ducati Scrambler and will be the 3rd variant from the Monster family of motorcycles.

Ducati is all set to introduce the Monster 797 in India in July this year. The Monster 797 motorcycle is the entry level offering by the Italian motorcycle maker in the said family of motorcycles. It shares its engine with the Ducati Scrambler which is a 803cc mill that churns out 75 HP of max power and 68 Nm of max twist. Even the basic frame is shared with the Scrambler which is a steel trellis one, although in it’s case the wheelbase is shorter at 1,435mm. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox. In order to avoid over heating, the company has introduced the 2 in 1 exhaust system that optimizes fluid dynamics.

As for the looks, the Ducati Monster 797 shares most of it’s design bits with the bigger Monster 821 and Monster 1200. The classic look of the bike is complemented by round LED headlights with LED position lamps, LED taillights wide handlebar, muscular tank and a double-sided swing-arm. The bike comes with 10-spoke light alloy wheels which are wrapped by Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres are in made from double-compound technology that maximise the contact area with any leaning angle and gets a FGD (Functional Groove Design) to optimize performance in wet conditions.

The Ducati Monster 797 is available in three colour options worldwide – Star White Silk, with red frame and wheels, the classic Ducati Red, with black frame and wheels and smart Dark Stealth with black frame and wheels. The bike comes with a fully digital instrument cluster that shows speed, rpm, totaliser, trip1 and trip2, engine oil temperature and clock, average journey time and average speed.
