LIVE! 2017 Maruti Suzuki DZire launched in India at Rs. 5.45 lakhs
The 2017 Maruti Suzuki DZire is based on the HEARTECT platform and is now India’s most fuel efficient diesel sedan at 28.4 kmpl.
Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the all new 2017 DZire in India. The car still ducks under 4 metres but looks much better than the previous generation car. It is based on a new platform that makes it even lighter than the outgoing car. The new car tops out at 1,000kgs that is much lighter than before. This has helped fuel efficiency and will also aid better performance from the existing engines. Power is drawn from the same 1.2-litre petrol engine and the 1.3-litre diesel engine that develop 83 HP and 74 HP respectively. Both engines are mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox. The petrol engine is rated to deliver 22 kmpl while the diesel deliver 28.4 kmpl.
The 2017 Maruti Suzuki DZire is available in a total of 14 variants on both petrol and diesel engines (L, V, Z, Z+, V AMT, Z AMT, Z+ AMT). The AMT autobox, christened as AGS will be available on the V trim upwards. Safety features have been offered as standard and include ISOFIX seats, 2 airbags and ABS. The 2017 Maruti Suzuki DZire competes with the likes of the 2017 Hyundai Xcent, Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo, Honda Amaze and Tata Zest.
The 2017 Maruti Suzuki DZire will come with LED taillamps as standard on all variants while LED projector headlights have been spared for the top trims. The car will be available in a total of 6 colours, 3 of which are brand new. The interiors will see an all new layout with a new dashboard, central console, and instrument cluster. For the first time, the Maruti DZire will receive a touchscreen infotainment system that supports satellite navigation, Apple Car Play, Android Auto and MirrorLink. There are more features like 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, steering mounted controls and a multi-info display in the instrument cluster on offer.
