LIVE – 2021 Toyota Fortuner launched with prices starting at Rs. 29.98 Lakh, Fortuner Legender priced at Rs. 37.58 Lakh

Toyota has launched the 2021 Fortuner with prices starting at Rs. 29.98 Lakh. The top of the line Fortuner Legender is priced at Rs. 37.58 Lakh. The outgoing Fortuner model was launched in 2016 making the newly launched Fortuner very different in terms of looks and features.

Speaking of the 2021 Toyota Fortuner the SUV gets a  new face that comes with redesigned LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, huge grille with mesh-design grille, all new design front bumper, 18-inch new design alloy wheels, slim design all new LED tail-lights.

In terms of interiors the 2021 Toyota Fortuner comes with a brand new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes loaded with a new OS and is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get 11 speaker JBL speakers on the package, updated instrument cluster, and an 8-way power-adjustable and ventilated driver and co-driver’s seats, LED ambient lighting, front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera. There are two interior colour schemes to choose from – all-black and chamois.

Speaking of the top of the line 2021 Fortuner Legender which is the sportier and fully loaded trim of the lineup. This variant comes with different exteriors which include a restyled and different front end which includes a split grille, a different front bumper with integrated sequential LED turn indicators, hands-free tail gate opening function, LED projector headlights with restyled LED DRLs, piano black finish insert in place of the chrome ones and also a redesigned alloy wheels. 2021 Fortuner Legender will only be offered in Pearl White with a contrast black roof while the interiors come in black and maroon.

Powering the 2021 Toyota Fortuner is the 2.7-litre petrol and a 2.8-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine remains unchanged as compared to the outgoing model and makes 166hp of power and 245Nm of torque and comes mated to an 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission options.

The 2.8-litre diesel unit makes 177hp of power and 420Nm of torque mated to the6 speed  manual transmission. While the same engine when mated to the  6-speed torque converter automatic produces 204hp of power and an huge 500Nm of torque in the Fortuner automatic.

the 2021 Toyota Fortuner petrol is available in two-wheel-drive form only, while the Fortuner diesel comes in both two wheel and four-wheel-drive options. While the 2021 Fortuner Legender is available with the two-wheel-drive option and comes mated to a 6-speed m, and can only be had with the 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Toyota Fortuner competes with the likes of the Ford Endeavour, MG Gloster and the Mahindra Alturas G4 in its segment.
