Tata Nexon engine details officially revealed
The Tata Nexon will be offered with a powerful pair of petrol and diesel engines mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Tata Motors has officially announced the engine options for its upcoming new SUV the Nexon. The car was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and will be soon launched in India during this festive season. The Tata Nexon will be offered with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol motor and a 1.5-litre diesel motor. The Revotron petrol engine churns out 110 PS and 170 Nm, while the Revotorq diesel motor is tuned to develop 110 PS and a whopping 260 Nm. Both engines are mated to a brand new TA6300 manual gearbox with 6 forward gears and 1 reverse gear.
Both engines are indigenously developed in India at the company’s R&D facility in Pune. The company has teamed up with global technology suppliers like AVL, Bosch, Mahale and Honeywell to offer the latest engine technology. The Revotron engine will be manufactured at the Sanand facility while the Revotorq engine will be produced at the Ranjangaon facility. The Tata Nexon will also be offered with segment first drive modes. The new engines are also expected to deliver high on fuel efficiency.

Both these engines have been designed and developed post extensive feedback from auto enthusiasts, expert drivers, followed by extensive testing across India, on different terrains. We are confident that this new family of engines will further help us build our brand and deliver a memorable experience on-road.”
