Skoda Hikes Prices from March 1st, Introduces Loyalty Program
Skoda Auto India has announced a price increase on their entire model range from 1st of March 2018. This price increase is due to the multiple step price increase in line with custom duty revisions set in the recent Union Budget.
On the other hand Skoda Auto have also introduced a loyalty bonus program with benefits of upto Rs. 50,000 for existing Skoda customers who want to purchase another Skoda product. The price increases would happen in a phased manner to lower the overall impact. This phased price increase will range between 3% – 4% depending on the model and variant. Skoda Auto has also stated that effective March 1st the price raise would only be 1% which would mean a raise of around Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 35,000 across the model lineup.
It maybe recalled that Skoda Auto India had a bumper 2017 with a growth of 30% over 2016. As per Skoda the brand promises further growth impetus from the new models in 2018. In addition, the rebranding and introduction of the NEW CICD across all retail outlets along with new customer focused initiatives have contributed to the overall growth of the brand. Additionally, the 4 year service care program offers 4 year warranty, 4 year (24 x 7) Road Side Assistance (RSA) and a 4 year (optional) service package has also helped them reach this growth.
Skoda launched the New Octavia, Kodiaq and the Rapid X along with its flagship performence oriented model the Octavia RS in 2017. Skoda also came up with an attractive finance and maintenance package in 2017 as part of its efforts to shed the image of its vehicles as expensive to own and maintain. The brand also revamped its network with new customer interface. The company has spent around Rs 100 crore over the last few years to restructure the entire sales and marketing infrastructure and the results are beginning to show. Skoda aims for a bigger year and plans to break last years record in terms of growth.
